Manchester United are interested in signing Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna in the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic. The report has claimed that the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are not in talks with Italian side Bologna over a deal for Zirkzee, but are speaking to the 23-year-old’s representatives.
The report has noted that United’s interest in Zirkzee is advanced. The Red Devils are now considering making a bid for the 23-year-old Dutchman. Zirkzee’s contract includes a €40million (£34m) release clause, which means that if the Red Devils trigger it, then it could become easy for him to get a deal done.
Zirkzee made 32 starts and two substitute appearances in Serie A for Bologna last season. The 23-year-old scored 11 goals and gave four assists in those games. Bologna finished fifth in the Serie A table last season and will play in the UEFA Champions League in 2024-25.
