Manchester United interested in £15 million striker

Roque Santa Cruz has joined Blackburn Rovers last year for a minuscule transfer fee of ₤3.5 million and he has enjoyed a wonderful season at Ewood Park. Now Manchester United are sizing up the possibility of making the Paraguayan striker their first acquisition of the summer, according to The Sun.

If Santa Cruz does move to Manchester United, then Blackburn will have made a considerable profit on the striker. The Sun believes that any deal that would be completed would cost the Glazers about ₤15 million – which is four times the amount that Mark Hughes spent on him last summer.

Santa Cruz came to Blackburn after a rather unpleasant spell at Bayern Munich, but he will look to kick start his career over again if this move will be finalized. Sir Alex could look to play the striker as a man who could feed off the balls provided by Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo, but he would most likely be used as a ‘Plan B’ by the Manchester United tactician.
