According to Dan Sheldon of The Athletic, Manchester United have contacted the representatives of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana over the possibility of the Cameroonian moving to Old Trafford this summer.
David De Gea is running out of contract at the end of the month, and United are yet to reach an agreement with the Spaniard, who has kept 190 clean sheets in 545 appearances between the posts, over a new one. As things stand, it could still happen with De Gea planning to return to Manchester after his holiday, and the club being aware that a new contract could be signed even after June 30th.
But both United and De Gea are believed to be considering their options at the moment, and for the 20-time English champions, Onana appears to be among the ones at the top of the list.
Meanwhile, Onana, who has permanently withdrawn from the Cameroon national team after being hit with a controversial disciplinary suspension at the World Cup in Qatar, has four years remaining on his contract with Inter. It obviously means that, unless there’s a release clause somewhere in it, his services are likely to cost quite a lot.
