According to a recent report from AS, Manchester United are “obsessed” with trying to sign Villarreal defender Pau Torres this summer.
The belief is that they’ve already made contact with the defender and that they may try and get the deal done as quickly as possible. Ironically, there’s a chance they could also meet in the Europa League this season, which would give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the chance to get an even closer look at the man he’s hoping to sign.
United have had a strong campaign up to this point and the hope is that, as they prepare to return to the Champions League next season, they can continue to lure big name players to Old Trafford.
Torres is the sort of player who still has a lot of room left to grow and at the age of just 24, it’d almost be surprising if he didn’t move within the next few years.
