Spanish daily newspaper Superdeporte has suggested that Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi.
It is no secret that the Red Devils are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements and they appear to have rekindled their interest in the Argentine stopper.
Manchester United have yet to submit an official proposal, although reports from Spain surprisingly suggest that Otamendi is not interested in a move to Old Trafford.
Namely, the 26-year-old is perfectly happy with life at Mestalla and he has no plans to leave los Che for the foreseeable future.
After returning from a loan spell at Atletico Mineiro, the former FC Porto centre-back has been ever-present for Valencia in La Liga, playing every minute in club’s 16 league fixtures, scoring one goal in the process.
As a result, Otamendi has also returned to the Argentina national team, starting friendlies against Hong Kong and Portugal in October and November.
