Manchester United keeping tabs on Ligue 1 hotshot

Manchester United have shown interest in Nice defender Diacko Fofana, Daily Mail reveals.

Sir Alex Ferguson plans to sign a new right-back in the summer, as he is not entirely satisfied with his options on the right hand side.

Brazilian Rafael has not lived up to his potential, whereas Phil Jones and Chris Smalling were also used at right-back in the absence of better solutions.

According to Daily Mail, Manchester United are interested in signing Nice youngster Diacko Fofana.

The Red Devils are having the 17-year-old scouted at the moment, and they could make a formal bid in the summer.

The youngster has only recently been promoted to the senior squad, but he already made three first team appearances.

The player has a contract until June 2015 with the Ligue 1 outfit, but Manchester United believe an offer in the region of £5 million would prove enough to bring him to Old Trafford.
