Manchester United have shown interest in Fiorentina midfielder Ricardo Montolivo, according to Daily Mail.
Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to boost his midfield options with another signing in January and he is reportedly keen on Ricardo Montolivo.
The Scottish manager sent his scouts to check on the midfielder’s progress as Italy hosted Northern Ireland on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old has one year left on his current deal with Fiorentina and he has opted against signing a new deal.
Everything suggests that Fiorentina will be looking to sell him in January so as to avoid losing him on free next summer and Viola would prefer to sell him abroad.
This basically means that Montolivo will be available at a cut-back price in January, although United are likely to face a stiff competition for the player’s signature.
