Manchester United keeping tabs on Portugal number one

Manchester United are pondering summer swoop for Sporting Lisbon keeper Rui Patricio, according to The Australian.

Sir Alex Ferguson has not been convinced by either David De Gea or Anders Lindegaard and he could sign another goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.

The Australian claims Fergie is showing interest in Sporting Lisbon keeper Rui Patricio and is weighing up summer move for the highly rated player.

The Red Devils have already made an inquiry into the availability of the Portugal number one and they are expected to step up their interest come end of the season.

The 24-year-old has just one year left on his deal with the Lions and is thought to be worth around £7 million.

Rui Patricio has established himself as one of the most talented keepers in world football and he is already considered first choice keeper in the national team.

The young shot-stopper started 5 games for Portugal in the Euro 2012 qualifiers, while he has been almost ever present for Sporting this season.
