According to a recent report from the Mirror, Manchester United are pushing ahead with plans to sign David Alaba – and they may even be leading the race.
The Bayern Munich defender is set to be out of a contract with the German giants next summer and from December 31st, he will be able to hold pre-contract talks with clubs. The expectation is that many, many teams are going to be in the mix to secure his signature, but if United can jump to the front of the queue, that would be a huge statement of intent to the rest of Europe’s top clubs.
Alaba has been a name that Premier League fans have wanted to see for many years and with the Red Devils looking like a team capable of challenging for the title in the next few years, it appears as if their global appeal is starting to return.
