With 15 English Premier League games remaining, Manchester United and Manchester City are level on points.
Manchester United v Stoke City Recap
On Tuesday, Manchester United bossed the game, to say the least, against Stoke City and won by a score of 2-0.
United ended the game having had 75% of the ball.
Michael Carrick and Paul Scholes played a huge role in not only keeping the ball, but also in picking apart the Stoke City defence.
Furthermore, Antonio Valencia’s purple patch continued on Tuesday night.
The Ecuadorian winger was absolutely fantastic yet again, creating space for himself and goal-scoring chances for others.
Surely no player in the Premier League is on better form than Valencia at the moment.
On the night that Ravel Morrison was transferred to West Ham United, Paul Pogba rose to the occasion and put together a scintillating cameo appearance.
The former Le Havre midfielder looked a superstar in the making according to ESPN in-game analyst Steve McManaman.
Pogba showed trickery, innovation, class and quality all in just 18 minutes on the pitch, and has United supporters buzzing about his seemingly limitless potential.
“Pogba did very well,” Sir Alex Ferguson told the BBC.
“The boy has great talent and tremendous physique for an 18-year-old. You can’t believe it.
“We are negotiating his contract at the moment.
“It is a bit complicated at the moment because he has changed his agent a couple of times.
“But the boy wants to stay, that is obvious. Hopefully we can get it done soon.”
Everton v Manchester City Recap
Surely all of you know that Everton defeated Manchester City 1-0 at Goodison Park on Tuesday night.
If you didn’t, you do now.
Now then, the man of the hour for the Toffees was none other than former Manchester Untited midfielder Darron Gibson.
Gibson poached the only goal of the match following a simple lay-off from loanee Landon Donovan.
Minutes later, Gibson’s name was echoing throughout Old Trafford. Oh the irony.
“I am just delighted we got the three points,” Gibson said, according to The Guardian.
“It was unbelievable, the lads went out and put a great shift in and thankfully we got the result in the end.
“We knew we had to go out and work really hard and try to stop them playing to get any sort of result and I think we did it really well. We knew we would get a few chances in the game and we took one.”
Congratulations to Darron Gibson and Everton for achieving a fantastic result against a far-superior Manchester City side.
Surely Manchester United love Darron Gibson now.
With City falling to Everton, the EPL title race has been turned on its head yet again.
