\Manchester United are weighing up move for Schalke striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar, Bild has revealed.
The Red Devils have been linked with the Dutchman even before he joined Schalke and they are now ready to reignite their interest.
Huntelaar has been the subject of heavy praise this season, having scored 21 goals in 19 competitive games, with his scintillating performances attracting interest from abroad.
Manchester United are reportedly pondering a January bid for the 28-year-old and are ready to offer Dimitar Berbatov in exchange.
Schalke general manager Horst Heldt admits that there is interest in Klaas Jan Huntelaar.
“It is normal that a player in this sort of form is interesting to other top clubs,” Heldt told Bild.
However, he says the club have yet to receive an offer for the experienced striker.
“There are currently no offers for Klaas.”
Huntelaar has two years left on his deal at Veltins Arena, and there are reports that Schalke may be forced to sell one of their highest earners if they miss out on Champions League qualification.
