Manchester United are interested in signing Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, according to Football Insider. The report has claimed that the Red Devils are keeping tabs on the former Arsenal star amid speculation on the future of David De Gea.
De Gea is the number one goalkeeper at United at the moment, but the former Atletico Madrid star is out of contract at the Red Devils at the end of the season. Although United do have the option to extend his contract by another year, it is not certain that the former Premier League and the UEFA Champions League winners will do so.
Martinez struggled to play regularly for Arsenal, but the Argentina international is a star at Villa and is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. It will be interesting to see if United do make an offer for him.
