Manchester United are interested in signing Jose Maria Gimenez from Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that Barcelona and Real Madrid are also keen on the 28-year-old Uruguay international centre-back.
Jose Maria Gimenez has been on the books of Atletico since 2013. The 28-year-old centre-back has been superb for the Spanish club over the years and is at the top of his game now at the age of 28. The Atletico no. 2 has made two starts and two substitute appearances in La Liga so far this season and has also played 45 minutes in the UEFA Champions League.
Manchester United are 10th in the Premier League table at the moment with nine points from seven matches, seven points behind Liverpool in fourth place. Meanwhile, Atletico currently find themselves fourth in the La Liga standings with 16 points from seven matches, five points behind leaders and city rivals Real Madrid.
