Manchester United look to sell Lingard

According to a recent report from the Mirror, Manchester United are aiming to sell Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira this summer.

Both players have struggled to secure consistent time in the first team ever since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes, and with Donny van de Beek being on the verge of heading to Old Trafford, they could slip even further down the pecking order before the new season even gets underway.

Pereira has seemed destined to leave the club for a while now, but with Lingard, it’s a much tougher equation.

In addition to being a popular figure with the fanbase, Lingard also put in a handful of positive performances towards the end of last season. That may not be enough to save his tenure with the Red Devils, but you’d have to imagine it’ll open some other doors for him elsewhere. Either way, though, these decisions need to be made sooner rather than later.
