Watford have played some surprisingly good football in the Premier League this season, and midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure is the player that is currently catching the eye of a number of clubs. One of those clubs is Manchester United, according to the Mirror.
The 37-year-old captain Michael Carrick is set to retire from playing and join the club staff at the end of season, while Marouane Fellaini is also expected to leave this summer as his contract expires. Therefore, manager Jose Mourinho needs fresh blood in his midfield to complement the likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matić and Ander Herrera.
Apart from Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are also said to be interested in securing his services. The Gunners parted ways with Francis Coquelin in January, and Liverpool’s situation with the contract of Emre Can has been at an impasse for a while now. Wherever he ends up, Doucoure is set to be an important player given the qualities he possesses.
