Manchester United need £85m for Coutinho

According to a recent report from Calciomercato, Manchester United will be required to pay £85 million in order to bring Philippe Coutinho over to Old Trafford. The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move away from the Nou Camp for quite some time now, after failing to really re-capture the magic that he showed at Anfield. There have certainly been glimpses of the Coutinho from back in the day, but he’s still been fairly inconsistent. United, on the other hand, recognise that Coutinho’s best days in football came during his spell in the Premier League – with their bitter rivals Liverpool.

This will undoubtedly cause a great deal of tension between the two clubs, but given how much there is already, it probably won’t matter.

At one point Coutinho was viewed as one of the best players in world football, and he’ll be desperate to get back to that point in the near future.
