Premier League giants Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid star Marco Asensio in the past few weeks, but today reports have emerged suggesting that Jose Mourinho has offered the Spanish youngster a monster five year deal.
According to the Express the Manchester club are willing to pay as much as £177m to acquire Asensio’s services, as well as offering him a contract that would net the 21-year old around £24m a year.
Despite his tender age Asensio has already broken into a star-studded Real Madrid side, and has featured in all 11 of Los Blancos La Liga games so far this season, scoring four times.
The youngster’s impressive exploits at club level have also earned him nine international caps for the Spanish senior team, and many have tipped Asensio to be a future Ballon d’Or winner.
If United were to bring the youngster to Old Trafford it would be quite the coup, but perhaps that is what it will take to keep up with high-flying rivals Manchester City
