Ever since Ruben Amorim took charge at Manchester United, the future of Marcus Rashford has been a subject of heavy speculation. Amorim’s words on the subject during press conferences did absolutely nothing to quell the rumours, and now, according to The Times, the Portuguese tactician has decided the time has come for the forward to be put on the transfer market, and he has the full backing of the club hierarchy. What’s more, United would apparently be prepared to entertain offers from other Premier League clubs, not just interest from abroad, as was originally believed.
The Sun, an outlet known for being lambasted by athletes and other public figures for inaccuracy and even falsehood, recently reported that Rashford was looking to change his representatives as he sought a way to resolve the issues around his future, but he has denied the claim quite categorically via social media.
Rashford’s last start for United came in a 4-0 triumph over Everton in early December and he scored twice in that game. He made substitute appearances in the following two matches, and then was left out of the squad completely three times in a row. He was an unused substitute in the game Amorim’s team lost to Newcastle on December 30th.
