Manchester United are planning for Ajax central defender Lisandro Martinez to undergo a medical, according to 90min. The report published this morning has claimed that Premier League giants United and Dutch powerhouse Ajax have agreed a deal worth up to €55million.
Martinez himself wants to move to United and work under his former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag. The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are now very confident of getting a deal done and have planned for a medical for the 24-year-old left-footed Argentina international central defender.
Martinez made 23 starts and one substitute appearance in the Eredivisie for Ajax last season, scoring one goal and providing three assists in the process. The Argentine defender has won the Eredivisie twice and the KNVB Cup and the Johan Cruyff Shield once each with Ajax. United will be aiming to finish in the Premier League top four next season.
