According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United are ready and willing to put forward a bid of up to €70 million in order to try and sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
The belief now is that the Italian giants are ready to try and sell the centre-back, mainly because if they leave it much longer, they aren’t sure what kind of fee they’ll be able to get for him – especially in the current climate.
United have never been shy when it comes to putting forward insanely lucrative bids for top players, and they aren’t about to shy away from the prospect now. If anything, the motivation of getting back into the UEFA Champions League could cause them to put in bids that previously would’ve seemed unthinkable.
Either way, this is a saga that isn’t going to go away overnight, especially with such a short turnaround before the new campaign begins.
