According to a recent report from Kicker, Manchester United are now the only side in the running to sign Goncalo Ramos.
For the longest time, Bayern Munich were also in the mix to try and bring Ramos over from Benfica – but they are said to have ‘cooled’ their interest, which could pave the way for United to make a serious move by the time we arrive at the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old has been making some serious waves over in Portugal and while United know what it’s like to be loose with their spending, it definitely feels as if there’s a bit more thought going into this one than usual.
The youngster will be weighing up his options but will almost certainly favour moving as opposed to staying, largely because of the opportunities that will be presented to him elsewhere in Europe.
Either way, this is one for United fans to get excited about.
