Manchester United reach Lisandro Martinez agreement with Ajax

Manchester United and Ajax have reach an agreement over the transfer of Lisandro Martinez this summer, according to 90min. The report has claimed that Premier League giants United and Eredivisie powerhouse Ajax have reached ‘a broad agreement’ over the Argentina international central defender for a move in the summer transfer window.

United will pay Ajax an initial transfer fee of €50 million with €5 million in add-ons for Martinez. Ajax were hoping to get €60 million for the defender, but he made it clear to the Dutch giant that he wanted to move to Old Trafford, so a compromise has been made.

Martinez made 23 starts and one substitute appearance in the Eredivisie for Ajax last season, scoring one goal and providing three assists in the process. The Argentine defender has won the Eredivisie twice and the KNVB Cup and the Johan Cruyff Shield once each with Ajax.
