Manchester United are preparing a bid of £50 million for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, according to The Times. The report has claimed that United are determined to sign England international midfielder Mount in the summer transfer window and are ready to make an offer of £50 million.
However, former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea want £70 million plus add-ons for Mount. The midfielder is a homegrown player and is only 24, and the Blues believe that they would get a lot of money for him.
Mount is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of next season. It will be interesting to see what the Blues do if United do not increase their offer to £70 million. Would Chelsea be willing to keep Mount and let him leave on a free next summer? Only time will tell.
