Italian TV station Mediaset reports that Manchester United are weighing up move for Inter star Wesley Sneijder.
The Red Devils have been following the highly rated midfielder for a couple of years now and had several unsuccessful attempts to lure him to Old Trafford.
However, following Sneijder’s contract dispute with Inter, Sir Alex Ferguson believes this is the right time to reignite their interest.
The Dutchman, who has two and a half years left on his deal at Giuseppe Meazza, was dropped from the squad after refusing to accept a significant pay cut to his current €6 million per campaign wage.
He has, therefore, decided to break off negotiations with the Neroazzurri and has set his sights on leaving the club in January.
A number of Europe’s high-profile clubs are looking to take advantage of the situation, but the player’s long-term desire to play at the Old Trafford might just prevail.
