Manchester United set for Stones bid

Manchester United are lining up a £50m bid for Everton defender John Stones, according to the Daily Star.

The Red Devils have made the England international their top target, and could be set to make him the most expensive defender in world football.

Chelsea have also been strongly linked with another move for the former Barnsley man having seen three big money bids of their own rejected by the Merseyside club last summer.

The 21 year old moved to Goodison Park in the summer of 2013, and has since racked up sixty-nine appearances in all competitions, scoring his one and only goal for the club so far against United in a 3-0 victory towards the end of last season.

He has been capped seven times by England, and is set to be part of their squad for next summer’s European Championships in France.

Louis van Gaal’s men travel to Bournemouth in Saturday’s late kick-off and can be backed at 13/10 for the win.
