Premier League heavyweights Manchester United have secured a deal for Poland Under-16 captain Lukasz Bejger.
The 16-year-old Lech Poznan centre-back underwent a successful trial with Red Devils who managed to snap up the talented defender in front of their bitter rivals Manchester City.
The Manchester Evening News report that Bejger is set to join Manchester United academy as part of their scholarship intake for next season.
Bejger was first recommended to United by Piotr Sadowski, a scout who joined the Premier League club from Lech Poznan last year.
Young Pole is said to be a versatile centre-back who is capable of filling in a right-back position if required and it is his ability to adapt to a number of roles and systems that impressed the Manchester United hierarchy.
Bejger has been capped eight time by Poland at Under-16 level. He made his national team debut earlier this season and went on to earn a captain’s armband in the process.
