Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly initiated talks with Valencia for Spanish midfielder Carlos Soler and are looking to negotiate a £30m fee, according to the Metro.
The Premier League giants are targeting Soler as the final piece in their midfield puzzle and the youngster is set to play alongside Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic in a midfield three. With Ander Herrera’s contract talks stalling and Michael Carrick planning to retire in the summer it is little surprise that Manchester United have been linked with a whole host of central midfielders.
Soler is a versatile player and despite central midfield being the preferred position for the Spaniard he has been impressing in the right wing role this season at Valencia. His real chance at Valencia came after an impressive showing for the Spanish Under-21 side and the youngster broke into his club’s first team half way through last season.
His good form has continued into this campaign and Soler has already bagged a goal and four assists in nine La Liga appearances. With an abundance of talent and versatility there is little doubt that the midfielder would be a good fit at Manchester United.
