Manchester United to outbid Barcelona for PSG defender

Premier League giants Manchester United are prepared to spend big in order to boost their squad and make their team as competitive as ever for next season.

Having finished the Premier League season in disappointing place, the Red Devils are now focusing on Europa League final and a chance to lift the trophy, but more importantly earn the place in the Champions League next year.

Jose Mourinho will once again be presented with a significant war chest and, according to reports from the Spanish media outlet Sport, the United boss is ready to smash Chelsea’s transfer record and make Paris Saint-Germain star Marquinhos the most expensive defender in history.

The aforementioned source claims Barcelona have already tabled an offer believed to be worth around £60 million for the highly-rated centre-back, but Manchester United are believed to be ready to outbid the Catalan giants with an offer worth £70 million.

Marquinhos joined PSG in 2013 and has thus far made 155 appearances in all competitions.
