Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly open to swapping French winger Anthony Martial for Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.
The Portuguese tactician is said to be a keen admirer of Rakitic’s talents and the Spanish media outlet Diario Gol claims that the Special One would be willing to offer Anthony Martial to convince Barcelona to do business with him.
With Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard pushing Anthony Martial down the pecking order it is believed that Mourinho is ready to allow his player to leave in order to boost the holding midfield position at Old Trafford.
Martial has been unable to tie down a permanent first-team role despite a string of eye-catching bench performances and a swap proposal to Barcelona could prove to be highly beneficial both for the French player and the Catalan club.
Martial could prove to be a valuable option for Barcelona who have lost Ousmane Dembele to severe injury earlier this season.
