Manchester United will sack Erik ten Hag after the FA Cup final against Manchester City on Saturday, regardless of whether his team wins the trophy or not, according to the Guardian.
Ten Hag has led United to the worst finish in the Premier League era in 2023/24, ending the campaign in eighth place, and if they fail to beat City, they will not be playing in Europe next season. With this result obviously not deemed good enough, the former Ajax coach now faces an imminent sack.
The man reportedly likely to replace him at this point is Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna, whom the newly promoted club want to keep, but he’s believed to be waiting on United to make their choice before making a decision on his future. Reports elsewhere say Mauricio Pochettino would be interested as well, following his sacking by Chelsea, as he desires to continue working in the Premier League.
