The transfer window may be shut, but the Metro is reporting that Manchester United could target Valencia playmaker Sofiane Feghouli.
Sir Alex Ferguson doesn’t exactly have an excellent record of signing midfielders, but Feghouli is very much admired by the Scotsman.
Ferguson is keen to bolster his midfield options, despite the success of new signing Shinji Kagawa and youngster Tom Cleverley.
Reports in Spain suggest that the Red Devils have been watching the playmaker as they continue to search for a long-term replacement for Paul Scholes.
The former England international is still in the squad at the moment of course, but perhaps it would benefit Feghouli to play alongside him for a certain amount of time.
The Valencia man has already scored two goals in La Liga this season and is impressing many, so it is clear to see why Manchester United are interested.
Much might depend on how Darren Fletcher does on his return to the side, but as has been mentioned, the more options the better for United in midfield.
Elsewhere, it is being suggested that Manchester United will have to pay around £16m to land Italy centre-back Angelo Ogbonna.
With a significant number of injuries in defence this season, Ferguson is keen to add another body to his squad and was impressed with Ogbonna during Euro 2012.
