Manchester United trying to sign Youssouf Fofana

Manchester United are interested in signing Youssouf Fofana from AS Monaco in the summer transfer window, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg. The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Premier League club United are in contact with the agents of Fofana.

Plettenberg wrote on X: “Manchester United have made contact with the agents of Youssouf #Fofana to explore a potential deal this summer!

“It was 2-3 weeks ago when ManUtd have presented their projects and plans. At this stage, they have not yet made a concrete offer to Monaco for the 25 y/o central midfielder. #MUFC

#Fofana still have a verbal agreement with AC Mailand about a contract until 2028. But no agreement between AC and AS yet. @SkySportDE.”

Fofana has been on the books of AS Monaco since 2020 and has established himself as one of the better midfielders in Ligue 1. The 25-year-old France international scored four goals and gave four assists in 31 starts and one substitute appearance in Ligue 1 last season.
