Manchester United wait for Upamecano

According to a recent report from Daily Star, Manchester United are preparing to try and sign RB Leipzig sensation Dayot Upamecano next year.

His £38 million release clause will become active in June 2021, and when that time comes, United aren’t going to be wasting any time in making him a Red Devils player.

While it may seem like quite a distance away for United, there are only nine months left to go until that clause will become valid – opening up all kinds of options for them.

Upamecano looked set to leave Leipzig this summer but it no longer appears as if that’s going to happen, and if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to wait it out before landing his man, that’s exactly what he’s going to do.

United have always been strategic thinkers in the transfer window, or at least they were during the Fergie era, and Solskjaer clearly wants to bring that style back.
