According to a recent report from Sky Sports News, Manchester United are very interested in the possibility of trying to sign Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes during the upcoming January transfer window.
At the age of just 20, Fernandes has been at a standstill with his club after not starting the last seven games due to a falling out with manager Bruno Lage. The belief is that United will attempt to take advantage of this by arranging a loan deal with a £34 million option to buy with whoever may be interested.
The official release clause in his contract is currently set at £102 million, but the Portuguese giants are now believed to be well aware of the fact that they aren’t going to get that sort of money for a player that isn’t even playing on a week to week basis right now.
United are eager to buy, and Solskjaer has his sights set on the youngster.
