According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Manchester United are interested in the possibility of signing Newcastle United youngster Sean Longstaff. The midfielder has been turning heads this season for the Magpies, although an injury towards the end of the campaign did derail his progress ever so slightly. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to bring in some young home-grown talent during the summer transfer window, as he attempts to re-build United’s squad from the ground up.
The club had a really poor end to the season in which they won just two of their last 12 games in all competitions, meaning that the majority of fans weren’t surprised to hear that big changes are coming in the summer. Buying Longstaff would certainly be a risk but when you consider the situation the club finds itself in, it doesn’t seem like they’re entirely opposed to the idea of taking a few risks here and there.
