According to a recent report from Manchester Evening News, Manchester United may start to explore a potential deal for Schalke star Rabbi Matondo. The belief is that he is considered to be an alternate option to Jadon Sancho, with the future of the Borussia Dortmund sensation being a source of great debate.
Matondo actually left the Manchester City Academy in favour of a move to Schalke where he was able to get the first team opportunities he needed. In just 12 appearances, he’s been able to make quite the impact.
United consider him to be a low risk option, in the same vein as Daniel James who fizzled out following a bright start to life at Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks all set to be a busy man during the summer transfer window, if it actually opens, as the Red Devils attempt to claw their way back into the UEFA Champions League.
