Manchester United are stepping up their interest in Juventus forward Mirko Vucinic, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Red Devils are bracing themselves for life without Wayne Rooney and they have singled out the Montenegrin as the player who could replace the England international.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Manchester United are ready to meet Juventus’ €15 million asking price, meaning the deal could be completed as early as next week.
The Red Devils have already attempted to lure Vucinic to Old Trafford in the past, but the deal never materialized.
However, this time Juventus are prepared to consider selling the highly rated forward, having signed Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez this summer.
Mirko Vucinic, 29, was one of club’s star performers last season, managing 10 goals and 6 assists in 31 Serie A fixtures.
With the competition for places in attack fierce in Turin, the Montenegrin is reportedly considering his options at the moment.
