According to Bild, Manchester United’s primary target to replace Jose Mourinho as manager of the club is Zinedine Zidane – but if they fail to land the former Real Madrid boss, their attention could turn towards Nuno Espirito Santo. The 44-year-old has been making a lot of noise over the last twelve months or so, after helping to guide Wolverhampton Wanderers to a dominant promotion campaign from the Championship.
On top of that, he’s been viewed as one of the most exciting young managers in European football for quite some time now, which is likely why he’s drawn the attention of the Red Devils.
Obviously, if Zidane becomes available then he’ll take priority over Nuno, who has led Wolves to a strong start to life back in the Premier League with just one loss from their first four games of the campaign. Mourinho’s departure, on the other hand, seems to be imminent.
