According to reports in England, Manchester United are interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil. United have been going in search of a new defender for quite some time, but now, it appears as if their attention is turning towards midfield. Ozil has had an interesting twelve months, to say the least, but at the weekend against Newcastle United, the former Germany international proved why he’s still one of the best midfielders in the league.
Jose Mourinho worked with Mesut when both men were at Real Madrid, and the Portuguese boss is said to be a big fan of his. United wouldn’t wait long before making their official move, either, with the January transfer window being pinpointed as the ideal time for them to go after him.
Manchester United will return to Premier League action this weekend when they go head to head with the in form, newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers.
