According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United have made it clear that they’re interested in bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club.
The Portuguese sensation left Old Trafford well over a decade ago now and since then, he’s gone on to cement his status as one of the greatest players to ever play the game. From his trophy wins to what he’s been able to produce on the pitch, the 36-year-old stands in a very elite group alongside Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona and a handful of others.
Ronaldo had initially made the jump over to Real Madrid and spent many successful years in Spain, before eventually transitioning over to Italy with Juventus.
The majority of fans have always wanted to see him return to English football but between United and Madrid, it’s going to be interesting to see where he ends up.
There’s every chance he surprises us by heading to the MLS, but his two former clubs – and perhaps even Sporting – are the likely leading contenders.
