Manchester United want Sean Longstaff

Manchester United are interested in signing Sean Longstaff from Premier League rivals Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, according to The Chronicle. Everton are also interested in a summer deal for Longstaff, who himself is aware that his chances of playing regular first-team football are limited.

Longstaff came through the Newcastle youth system and established himself in the first team. The 27-year-old midfielder has made a total of 210 appearances for the Magpies so far in his career, scoring 16 goals and providing 11 assists in the process. Longstaff has made 28 appearances for Eddie Howe’s side so far this season, providing one assist in the process.

Man United are 13th in the Premier League table at the moment with 37 points from 29 matches, while Newcastle currently find themselves sixth in the standings with 47 points from 28 games, two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea and could end up qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
