Manchester United are interested in signing Pedro Goncalves from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2021, according to The Telegraph. It has been reported that Premier League and European giants United are looking at the former Wolverhampton Wanderers player as a cheaper option to Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund.
United are interested in former Manchester City winger Sancho, but Dortmund will sell only for over £100 million. It is a lot of money, and the Red Devils have identified Goncalves as a potential alternative. The 22-year-old plays predominately as a central attacking midfielder, but the Portuguese youngster is able to operate on the right wing.
The report has claimed that Goncalves has a buyout clause of £51.7 million. According to WhoScored, the 22-year-old has scored 15 goals and provided three assists in 21 Portuguese league matches so far this season, and has played once in the Europa League this season.
