Manchester United have categorically denied rumours that they’re considering alternatives to Erik ten Hag in the managerial role, but they reportedly expect a turnaround in form and results as soon as possible. There have also been claims that the players have turned against the Dutch tactician, but midfielder Scott McTominay has come out to offer his support to the coach.
With five wins and five defeats from 10 Premier League games played so far, the Red Devils are eighth in the English top flight at the moment, and that’s obviously not where the 20-time champions want to be. Their last two games were 0-3 defeats at home, to Manchester City in the league and Newcastle in the Carabao Cup, and in their Champions League group, they’ve only managed to beat Copenhagen, losing to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.
Ten Hag has admitted that his team are in a difficult moment, but he insists that the only way out is for everyone at the club to work together towards finding a solution.
United will travel to London to face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, and it would be interesting to see if their stance towards Ten Hag’s job changes if they fail to deliver a good performance and a satisfactory result.
