Mancini believes De Rossi swoop possible
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini believes that Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi could arrive to Etihad at the end of the season.
The Italian international will be a free agent next summer and he can soon start talking to interested clubs.
De Rossi is currently negotiating a new deal with Roma, but with no progress being made over the last few months, the player could decide to break off the negotiations and leave on a free transfer next summer.
Manchester City appear to be leading the race for the player’s signature, with boss Roberto Mancini making no secret of his desire to sign the combative midfielder.
“De Rossi is a champion and he would be the perfect man to improve City,” Mancini told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“If we pick up the right signals, it is worth trying to sign him.”
Mancini also revealed that he was in talks with Manchester City chiefs regarding a new deal.
“For now we are just talking. It depends on the results, but I’m happy at City.”
Hulk’s agent drops Chelsea hint
The agent of Porto striker Hulk has revealed that his client would love to work with Andre Villas-Boas at Chelsea.
The 25-year-old is one of the most sought-after players in Europe and he is repeatedly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is reportedly keen on taking his former player to London, although the big asking price could prove to be a problem.
Hulk’s agent reveals that his client is keen on linking up with the Portuguese manager.
“Hulk would wholeheartedly agree to work with Andre at Porto or Chelsea, or at any other team because he really likes the way he coaches,” Theodoro Fonseca was quoted as saying in The Times.
“Andre knows Hulk very well and they have a good relationship. Hulk at Chelsea? Anything is possible.
“His buyout clause is 100m, so his future depends on an agreement between the clubs.”
Real Madrid keeping tabs on Marco Reus
Real Madrid are prepared to join the race for Borussia Moenchengladbach forward Marco Reus, AS understands.
The 22-year-old has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 10 goals in 15 Bundesliga games.
Bayern Munich chiefs already expressed interest in the Germany international, but they could face a stiff competition from Real Madrid.
According to AS, los Merengues are currently identifying summer targets and they have set their sights on Reus.
The highly rated midfielder has a €17.5 million release clause inserted in his contract, which is well within Real’s price range.
Jose Mourinho is a big fan of German football and after Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedira proved to be big hits at Santiago Bernabeu, the Portuguese coach wants to continue shopping in Bundesliga.
Besides Marco Reus, Mourinho is also keen on Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Mario Goetze.
