Roberto Mancini has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association following his touchline clash with David Moyes. The Manchester City boss was involved in a spat Moyes in the final moments of the Toffees’ 2-0 victory at Eastlands on Wednesday night.
Mancini attempted to take the ball off Moyes in order to allow his players to take a quick throw-in. Fourth official Howard Webb had to muscle his way between the two in order to separate them, before referee Peter Walton came over to the sidelines and sent both men to the stands.
The FA have elected to charge Mancini for his actions having studied match official Walton’s report into the incident.
Moyes received a written warning from the FA who reminded the Goodison Park boss of his responsibilities. Mancini has until 6th April to respond to the charge and a regulatory commission will hear the case by 19th April.
“It was nothing really, and I’ve no problem with Roberto,” Moyes said on Friday.
“He was fine immediately afterwards, he apologised walking down the tunnel, and I have no problem at all with him, you just get along with it.”
