Mancini claims nobody wants Tevez; Arsenal target available for sale

Mancini claims nobody wants Tevez

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini believes Carlos Tevez will stay at Eastlands, because no club want to sign him.

Carlos Tevez was widely expected to leave the club after handing out a transfer request earlier this summer, but it now looks as though he will be staying after all.

After his former club Corinthians failed to agree a deal with Manchester City, the Argentine no longer has any suitors.

“It is two weeks until the end of the market,” Mancini was quoted as saying in Daily Mail.

“I think it is difficult for him to leave.

“I don’t know if he will stay but at the moment, there isn’t a team who want to take him. I would be happy if he stays.”

The Argentine has only recently joined pre-season training and he won’t be available for City’s opening game with Swansea.

Roberto Mancini is adamant the club need to sign few more players.

“We start in the Premier League on Monday and we need to complete our team.

“We hope we can do that very quickly because we need more players.”

Arsenal target available for sale

Olympique Marseille midfielder Lucho Gonzalez could leave Velodrome in the next couple of days, his agent has revealed.

The Argentine playmaker has long ago expressed his desire to leave the club, but until now there have been no major developments.

Arsenal have recently made an enquiry into the availability of El Comandante and the player’s agent has now revealed that he is set to meet with interested clubs.

“I will be in France on Tuesday to discuss the sale,” Franco Simonian told RMC Radio.

“I have talked to the clubs concerned and we will decide what is best for the player.

“At the moment the clubs involved are English, Spanish and Italian.”

With Cesc Fabregas set to join Barcelona, Arsenal are desperate to sign an experienced playmaker and they look to be keen on the Marseille midfielder.

However, they could face stiff competition from Everton, Malaga and Milan.

Fiorentina weighing up move for Maxi Lopez

Fiorentina have shown interest in Catania forward Maxi Lopez, Il Gazzetta dello Sport reveals.

With Alberto Gilardino expected to leave the club this summer, Viola are actively searching for a new striker.

Coach Sinisa Mihajovic believes Catania forward Maxi Lopez would be an ideal replacement and he has instructed the club chiefs to make a move for the Argentine.

The former Barcelona forward has two years left on his contract with Catania, but the Sicilians would not be able to refuse a big money offer.

Maxi Lopez has repeatedly been linked with a move away from the club this summer and Fiorentina are just one of the interested sides.

Juventus, Napoli and few English sides have expressed their interest in the Argentine, but there have been no concrete moves so far.
