Mancini drops De Rossi hint; Anzhi to offer Drogba £10 million a year

Mancini drops De Rossi hint

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says that the Citizens will make an offer for Daniele De Rossi if he leaves Roma.

The 28-year-old has less than a year on his contract with the Giallorossi with the transfer talks failing to produce any results.

De Rossi recently stated that he would like to remain at Roma, but he could be tempted by interest from several European giants.

Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United have all expressed interest in the Italy international, and Roberto Mancini reveals that Manchester City will join the race as well.

“It’s always difficult to get your hands on a Roman footballer and a Romanista who plays for Roma,” Mancini told Il Corriere dello Sport.

“That’s because a Roman is very attached to his origins and his way of life. As a result, I wouldn’t be surprised if he renewed his contract.

“But, if De Rossi is one day available on the market then Manchester City will be ready, as will Real Madrid, Chelsea and all the big clubs.

“He’s a top player, one of those few players who can get into the very best teams in the world. He’s a complete midfielder, with class and experience.”

Anzhi to offer Drogba £10 million a year

Russian Premier League side Anzhi are ready to offer Didier Drogba £10 million a year, according to Daily Mail.

The Dagestan club are looking to add more star names to their line up in January and Chelsea’s Didier Drogba is one of their primary targets.

The Ivory Coast international has been unable to agree on a new deal with Chelsea and he could decide to leave the club when his contract expires next summer.

The 33-year-old wants to sign a two-year deal with the Blues, but he has only been offered a one-year extension.

Milan have already expressed interest in the veteran forward, but Anzhi believe they can beat the rivals by offering the player a yearly wage of £10 million.

The Russian club have already contacted the player’s representatives with a view to making an official bid for his services.

Samuel Eto’o was one of the players who couldn’t resist a big money offer from Anzhi, with the former Inter forward signing a long-term deal worth £15.6 million per season.

Quagliarella’s agent rules out Juventus exit

The agent of Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella has denied reports linking his client with a move to Genoa.

The 28-year-old has been unable to break into the starting line-up at Juventus Arena following a lengthy absence from injury.

However, his client reveals that the player is fully focused on Juventus and that he doesn’t want to leave the club.

“Quagliarella remains concentrated on his work and the Juventus project. This is what both he and the club want,” Giuseppe Bozzo told Secolo XIX.

“There is no chance of him leaving, let alone in January. There is nothing in the rumours.”

Bozzo did admit that Quagliarella had been contacted by Genoa in the summer.

“It’s true president Enrico Preziosi came forward and made contact, but even if we’re talking about a June move, Fabio could only join another top club, certainly not Genoa.”
