According to the Metro, Manchester City are set to make a move for Daniele De Rossi for a second time after failing to secure his services last summer.
The Roma midfielder helped Italy reach the final in Euro 2012, putting in some good performances and now despite signing a new contract at the Italian club until 2017, is being linked with City.
It is being suggested that £23.5 million is the amount that Roberto Mancini will offer the Serie A side, who are sure to want a massive sum of money for their star man who has five years left on his current deal.
Mancini has stated that he believes the Citizens can be a major contender for the Champions League as well as the English Premier League this season. He will know though that he must add to his current squad in order to achieve this though.
There is no doubt that the Italian boss is an admirer of De Rossi having tried to sign him in the past.
The 28-year-old is in possibly the best years of his playing days and this could be a fantastic move for him. However, with so long left on his contract he will know it may be unlikely.
