New Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has urged Brazilian forward Robinho to remain at Eastlands.
Mancini replaced Mark Hughes as manager at Eastlands on Saturday, but was officially unveiled on Monday.
Robinho has long been linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona and admitted on Monday that he was keen on talks with Mancini over his future at Eastlands.
“Robinho is a fantastic player,” he said.
“But for a big player like him, it is important to make the history of a club.
“I played at Sampdoria for 15 years. I wrote the history. It is important. Robinho can do that here.”
