Liverpool’s Sadio Mane appears to have dropped a hint as to where he’ll be playing his football next season.
With the Premier League’s runaway leaders Liverpool having to deal with the involuntary loss of some of their best players in recent years (Luis Suarez, Raheem Sterling, Philippe Coutinho), reports are regularly appearing about an alleged interest from Real Madrid in either Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane, whichever story might lift more dust into the air at a particular moment. However, at Anfield they believe that the club has changed from a stepping stone to a destination for top players, and they won’t be looking kindly at any club’s interest in a player they have a mind to keep. And as for Mane, it seems the Senegalese forward has no intention of leaving either.
In an interview with TalkSport, Mane expressed his hope Liverpool would be allowed to lift the Premier League trophy at the end of this season, whenever that might be, but he also said he would fully understand if things turn out different, pointing out that the situation is much more difficult for millions of people around the world at the moment. And in the end, he simply said:
“Hopefully we win it next year.”
